Mott Children’s Health Center’s collaboration role is to educate and inform policy makers, elected and appointed officials, service providers and community organizations / leaders about issues related to the comprehensive health needs of Genesee County’s children and the systems that respond to those needs.

This is done in multiple ways:
1. Providing support to organizations whose principal role is advocacy on behalf of infants, children, adolescents and their families.

Examples:
  • Priority Children
  • Michigan Council for Maternal and Child Health (statewide advocacy organization)

  • 2. Producing informational materials on children’s issues that provide the background for advocacy efforts.

    3. Participating in organizations, coalitions, collaboratives and committees that work on issues that promote children’s health and well being, and strengthen community capacity to address such issues.

    4. Sponsoring conferences, workshops and presentations on issues impacting children which have implications for action.
    Examples:
  • Dr. Arthur L.Tuuri Annual Interdisciplinary Conference (held in October each year)
  • Autism Speaks
